We’re very happy to have Courtney Monheit as a member of our Racepoint Group team! Get to know our one of our fabulous interns in this intimate Q&A.

1.  How would you explain what you do for work in 3 sentences or less to your 7 year old niece?

At Racepoint Group I am in charge of assisting with three different accounts within the health and technology industries and conduct daily news scans and social media recommendations each morning. I also handle all event calendars for award and speaking opportunities throughout the year. Lastly, I update the media lists, weekly agendas, coverage trackers, briefing sheets and provide monthly and quarterly reports on social media. (My niece is smart, she understands)

2.  What is your favorite website, blog or online community?

Besides the RaceTalkBlog (obviously it’s my favorite blog of all time), I like to refer to POPSUGAR and Buzzfeed for social media inspiration. For my daily news, I view the Huffington Post and The Daily Beast.

3.  What is the last book you read?

The last book I read was Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. As an English major I have read a vast majority of books and was able to take an entire course solely on Jane Austen. Her subversive diction is rich with double-coded under-tones that challenge paternalistic paradigms, which is what I find so fascinating about her work.

4.  What do you have as your desktop wallpaper right now?

My desktop is an image of the many different colored leaves of Fall. I love to get into the holidays and Fall for me, marks the kick-off of every holiday season!

5.  What is your favorite drink?

My favorite drink is a vanilla latte from Starbucks or Petes. Yes, I am a coffee-holic and never start a day without a cup in hand!

6.  If you were a character in Harry Potter, which one would you be?

Growing up reading and watching Harry Potter all through my childhood, I always admired and wanted to be Hermione Granger because of her wit and quick resolve. She is a loyal friend and very audacious. I cried when the seven-part series came to an end! (closet-nerd)

7.  What is your favorite cereal?

Despite not liking breakfast which everyone finds shocking, there is one breakfast item I will not turn away. I love Raisin Bran Crunch, but it has to have the crunch or I ain’t biting.

8.  What is your first memory?

One of my first memories as a young child was when I was dressed in a sassy tutu/leotard for a jazz & tap performance! I’ve outgrown the tutu but the moxie is still going strong!

9.  Are you afraid of anything?

I am deathly afraid of needles and would try and run out of the doctor’s office….as a child, geez what were you thinking! It’s hereditary, thanks Dad.

10.  If you could go on a cross-country road trip with any celebrity (dead or alive), who would you choose and where would you go?

I would go with the legend, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) from Anchorman and visit the seven wonders of the world! Obviously we would co-report live news together and ALWAYS keep it classy.
