TechCrunch Publishes Confidential Twitter Documents

Last night TechCrunch announced that they had received a zip file containing 310 confidential documents from Twitter. These documents include notes from executive meetings, partner agreements, meal preferences, calendars, people who interviewed for high-level jobs, security pass codes, financial projections and even plans for the Twitter TV show that was discussed in May.

Michael Arrington announced last night that TechCrunch had received these documents and had apparently been in discussions with Twitter about what information TechCrunch would be posting. Arrington has since stated that he will not publish personnel information, but will be releasing documents that show financial projections, product plans, and executive strategy meeting notes.

So far there has been a wide range of reaction from Twitter users and TechCrunch readers, but TechCrunch has already published plans for the Twitter TV show this morning, called “Final Tweet.”

Other blogs such as Mashable have already stated that they will not be publishing this information, but did point out that Twitter needs to address some larger security concerns, as this is not the first time they have faced hacking and security problems.
