Thanks for following up Yammer folks. That does make some sense, although it'd still be easier if you could add a botton or box to one of the twitter app's Twhirl or Tweet deck, where you could simply turn Yammer integration on our off, with one click. I'll def check out the different options available in the meantime.

Thank you for writing about our product; we are always interested in receiving feedback, especially when we release new features.

We decided to go with the #yam approach after testing various methods of integration internally. We've observed (and heard complaints) that users don't necessarily want to follow their co-workers Twitter updates, and those updates ended up polluting the Yammer feed and making it less work-related.

#yam allows you to cross-post only those messages which you consider to be interesting to both your Twitter and Yammer followers.

If you want to import your entire Twitter stream into Yammer, here are two ways to do it:

1. Import your Twitter account as an RSS feed. This will not force everyone following you on Yammer to follow your Twitter messages, but will make it as easy as going to the RSS feed directory and clicking 'Follow'.

2. Use an external client that supports both Twitter and Yammer. Two examples are Ping.fm and AlertThingy.

Please let us know what you think! You might also want to check out our user forum (forum.yammer.com), where users can discuss our features and ask questions.
