Jon Stewart Takes Down CNBC

By Kyle Austin

March 6th, 2009

I’m seriously late in joining the bandwagon coverage of Jon Stewart’s take down of Rick Santelli and CNBC last night, but I couldn’t resist. Santelli, “bailed out” on appearing live on the show at the last minute (never a good idea), but that didn’t stop Stewart from launching an 8 minute-plus rant at the ineptitude of CNBC’s coverage of the financial meltdown. The Columbia Journalism Review is calling it a much needed mirror holding on the business media, and their role in letting down consumers across the country. Barry Ritholtz, wonders aloud what CNBC’s PR meetings were like today. I wonder the same.
